Alabamians should stay aware of the possibility of flooding. According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, “a storm system will bring moderate to heavy, persistent rain to the area at the end of the work week.”

Currently, thunderstorms are likely for our area, but the severe potential looks to be low. “Most models agree that parameters needed for severe weather are not lining up at this time,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

The timing for the possibility of flooding is Thursday through Saturday morning. The concerns are for river and flash flooding. At this time, 3-4" are expected across the area, with up to 5" possible in a few locations.
