
Flood Watch: West Alabamians in Flood-Prone Areas Stay Alert
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Flood Watch going now until Thursday, February 13 at 4 a.m.
Threats
The main threat is that flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible
“Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

Risk Areas
The areas of concern include the central parts of Central Alabama, primarily between Interstate 20 to the north and Interstate 85 to the south.

Other counties under the “Flood Watch” include Blount, Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Etowah, Jefferson, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Tallapoosa, and Walker.

Residents are advised to stay updated on future forecasts and monitoring for potential Flood Warnings. Those in flood-prone areas should be ready to act if flooding occurs.
