After Paul Walker's tragic death in a car accident late last year, production on 'Fast and Furious 7' was rightfully halted as cast and crew morned the death of their comrade and director James Wan and Universal Studios began planning a way of retiring the Brian O'Conner character from the franchise. With a new release date set for 2015, the 'Fast and Furious 7' crew is now set to restart production close to the beginning of April.

'Fast and Furious 7' was halfway through shooting -- with Walker nearly completely finished with his scenes -- at the time of the actor's death. According to THR, after tweaks to the script and previously shot footage, Universal is confident they can retire Walker's Brian O'Conner in a way that can continue the franchise. With that work complete, the actors are scheduled to return to the Atlanta-based set where they will reportedly film for another six-to-eight weeks.

'Fast and Furious 7' stars the likes of Vin Diesel, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star Djimon Hounsou, Ronda Rousey, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and 'Game of Thrones' star Nathalie Emmanuel, and will hit theaters April 10, 2015.

Aside from 'Fast and Furious 7,' Walker had already filmed Hurricane Sandy drama 'Hours,' which was released shortly after his death, as well as 'Brick Mansions,' the American remake of French actioner 'District B13.' That film will be released this coming April 25.
