
Expected Excessive Rainfall in Alabama: Flood Watch Issued
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a “Flood Watch.” This watch goes into effect on Saturday, April 5, at 9 p.m. and remains in effect until Monday, April 7, at 7 p.m.
There is a concern for flooding due to the expected excessive rainfall.
Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Residents in flood-prone areas should remain prepared to act swiftly in the event of flooding.

“Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying, flood-prone areas. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
All counties under the watch covers: Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Blount, Bullock, Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Etowah, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Marion, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa, Walker, and Winston.
