Enhanced Risk of Severe Weather + Tornadoes in West Alabama
The southern region of the United States is in store for a weekend of severe weather threats. The Weather Channel said, “This includes New Orleans and Shreveport, Louisiana, Jackson, Mississippi, Birmingham, Alabama, Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee, and Atlanta.”

Timing
The overall impact time frame for the entire area the National Weather Service in Birmingham covers is between Saturday at 9 p.m. and Sunday at 6 a.m.
For the Townsquare Media Coverage area, our window for impacts starts Saturday at 9 p.m. through roughly Sunday at 3 a.m.
The timing of this weather scenario will be key because it will be a fast-moving system.
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist, said, “A line of strong to severe thunderstorms will likely enter the northwest corner of the state around 9:00 tomorrow night. It will move through the rest of the state during the late night/pre-dawn hours.”
Risk Areas
The Storm Prediction Center has a large portion of the western part of Alabama under an “enhanced risk,” while the remaining portion is under a “slight risk.”
