Normally, Memorial Day is filled with big gatherings, family and friends, and great food. COVID-19 has thrown a wrench in not only people's Memorial Day weekend plans but holiday plans in general. A staple in the Tuscaloosa community decided to do something for the community during these unusual times.

Druid City Brewing hosted a curbside bbq on Memorial Day for the community. The menu featured potato salad, baked beans, smoked chicken, and sausage! The best part about all of this is that the food was FREE! Druid City made the event announcement via their Facebook page.

We know normal Memorial Day activities are all jacked up. As a thank you for everyone supporting us, we will continue our curbside beers and also offer FREE CURBSIDE BBQ boxes to go!

When speaking with ABC 33/40, Druid City Brewing Company Co-Owner Bo Hicks explained how COVID-19 has effected their event planning in Tuscaloosa, "We haven't been able to do art and music in the community. Since everything is like it is, a lot so people aren't able to cook out and hangout with friends, so we wanted to give people a way to do it safely and have some barbecue." The community definitely appreciated the free food and the great beer for the holiday. Many took to social media to post their plates and it looked great!

We're thankful for great businesses in Tuscaloosa who care about the community and is willing to serve us during this difficult time. We appreciate Druid City Brewing Company for being a staple in the Tuscaloosa community.
