DJ Fluker Has A Wingspan of Over 7 Feet, Which Either Makes Him Superhuman Or A Golden Eagle
Former Bama right tackle and newest member of the San Diego Chargers DJ Fluker was recently profiled on ESPN Sports Science.
During the episode along with testing his speed and agility, they also measured Fluker’s wingspan. A wingspan is described as the maximum extent across the wings of an aircraft, bird, or other flying animal, measured from tip to tip. In this instance, from middle finger to middle finger while his arms are outstretched.
Fluker’s wingspan measure 86 inches or 7 foot 2 inches if that makes more sense. He stands 6’5” but has a wingspan of 7’2”! That's the same wingspan as a Golden Eagle!
I went around the office and took wingspan measurements of several of my coworkers and myself.
I stand 6’3” and have a wingspan of 75 inches which equals my height, 6’3”. My coworker PJ the DJ has a wingspan of 6’4” and stands 6’4”. Our Market Manager Todd has a wingspan measuring 5’9” while standing 6’0”. So I think we can deduce that a person’s wingspan generally equals their height, give or take an inch.
A wingspan of 7’2” makes a man almost superhuman when paired with a 6’5” frame and weighing in at 340lbs.! The Charger’s just drafted a superhuman football monster!
