Dierks Bentley has shared "Living," an inspirational and meditative new track off of his upcoming release, The Mountain. Readers can press play above to listen.

"Living" is about not taking life for granted and appreciating life for the gift that it is. Throughout the song Bentley lists the things that he has learned to appreciate everyday like a tree he's seen "a thousand times", a sunrise and, of course, his wife. Bentley stresses in the song that gratitude is about making a choice to be thankful every day.

"Some days you just breath in / Just try to break even / Sometimes your heart's poundin' out of your chest / Sometimes it's just beatin' / Some days you just forget / What all you've been given / Some days you just get back / And some days you're just alive / Some days you're livin' / Some days you're livin'," he sings.

It isn't the first time fans have gotten a taste of "Living": Bentley played this song live late in 2017. Onstage, he explained the message behind the lyrics: "[Me and the band, we] try to live every day," Bentley said. "No matter what we’re doing, we try to go out there and do something that makes us feel like we’re living. That’s how this song came about."

Bentley has said that The Mountain is a personal release for him, and is in part a meditation on his own self-reflection and struggle in the face of personal and professional challenges. Many of the album's tracks were written and recorded in Colorado, after Bentley found the initial inspiration for the project while playing at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, against the backdrop of mountainous scenery and the experience of getting away from Nashville and out into nature.

The Mountain is slotted for release on June 8. It is available for pre-order, with a few instant downloads, now. Bentley's 2018 Mountain High Tour, which will feature opening performances from Lanco and the Brothers Osborne,  kicks off on May 17 in Columbia, Md.
