What if I told you there is a secret park hidden on an ISLAND in Lake Tuscaloosa?

Some of you may already be in the know, but I had NO CLUE that Carroll's Creek Island was a) a thing and b) home to a PARA park.

I spent some time earlier this morning searching for the perfect locations for a new Buc-ee's in Tuscaloosa and was using Google maps to scope out my spots. I noticed this and was like whuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut?

Is that... a park?

On an ISLAND?

Why has no one told me about this before? I spent some time trying to learn more about the Caroll's Creek Island Park, but all I could find was this page on PARA's website.

I read another post that said the island park has restroom facilities and picnic tables, but I couldn't find any photographs.

You can only access the park by boat; and judging from the aerial views on Google, there are plenty of trees on the island. I bet it is really beautiful in fall. Can you camp there? Have a picnic lunch?

It looks like I need to charter a boat and head out to Caroll's Creek Island to see what's out there unless one of y'all wants to hit me up using our app chat and let me know about this little park's hidden secrets.
