Could Alabama’s Sweater Weather Season Be Delayed?

This year, for Halloween, I went as Mother Nature. The number one request on Facebook was to bring some cooler weather to West Alabama.

Steve Shannon caught the very moment when I dropped the world while ordering up some cooler temperatures.

November Temperature Outlook

“A large part of the Lower 48 is expected to see above-average temperatures in November,” said The Weather Channel. These above-average conditions include Alabama and our neighboring states.

Will We Need Our Umbrellas?

Another issue facing Alabama and the Deep South is the precipitation outlook. A good portion of Alabama is slightly below average, while those in southern Alabama are below average.

Is Alabama a Gloomy State in November?

The Weather Channel places Alabama in the 50-60% range for cloudiness. In comparison, the “average November sky is at least 70% cloud-covered around the Great Lakes, interior Northeast and Pacific Northwest.”

Possible Severe Weather Danger

We are in the south with an active tornado season. The Weather Channel places Alabama between a “possible and a greater risk zone.” The Townsquare Media Coverage Area of West Alabama is in the "greater" zone.
