Central High Student Charged With Gun At School In Tuscaloosa

Police report a Central freshman was arrested after bringing a gun to school last week. The student told police he was protecting himself from a bully.The student claimed he was being bullied by another student while on the way home from school.

Teachers found the gun in the freshman's backpack, while searching for a cellphone,according to the Tuscaloosa News. Central was placed on temporary lockdown. No other guns or weapons were found.

The student was charged and held in the Tuscaloosa Detention Center.
