Brent Cobb Releases Music Video for ‘Let the Rain Come Down’
Brent Cobb has released a music video for his song "Let the Rain Come Down." Readers can press play above to watch.
Cobb's "Let the Rain Come Down" video was directed and produced by Wes Teshome; it shows Cobb and his band performing the mellow track at Memphis, Tenn.'s legendary Sam Philips Studio. Cobb's "Let the Rain Come Down" clip is one of a handful of videos he filmed for the Elektra Sessions Live series; previously released clips show Cobb and his band performing “Black Crow” and “Shine on Rainy Day."
"Let the Rain Come Down" comes from Cobb's major-label debut record, Shine on Rainy Day, which was released in October by Low Country Sound / Elektra Records. Cobb's cousin, Grammy Awards-winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell), produced the record; it was recorded live over four days in Nashville.
“I wanted to work with Brent for very selfish reasons,” admits Dave Cobb in a press release. “When he lifts a pen and opens his mouth, it sounds like home. I did his record because he’s part of the fabric of South Georgia and the soundtrack to my family — pure rural, country, soul-filled music.”
Adds Brent Cobb, "[T]hank God I was able to record it because the songs and the production, it was everything I wanted to say. Finally.”
Brent Cobb has a busy year ahead: He will tour with Stapleton on Stapleton’s All-American Road Show, play on the Stagecoach Spotlight Tour with Jamey Johnson and Margo Price and open several shows for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's Soul2Soul Tour. Fans can purchase Cobb's record on iTunes.
