With Christmas just around the corner, should parents be concerned with toy recalls? The answer is yes.  Toys get recalled for various reasons. So I did some digging and found that there are current recalls, and we want to keep Alabama's children safe.

Recalls range from choking hazards to falls and even burns! Target has recalled both of these items due to choking hazards.  This Cloud Island 4-piece plush toy set consists of soft plush toys with a rattle inside of them. Now you may think it’s the rattle that’s the concern, but it is not. The wheels can fall off and pose a choking hazard.

Now, this choking hazard has nothing to do with the puzzle pieces, there is a label that can become detached and that is when the choking hazard becomes a possibility.  Both of the above recalls should be returned to the store.  Which item may be under your tree that’s a fall hazard? Well, this Huffy Blues Clues ride-on toy is.

Yes, there is a recall on the foot-to-floor ride-on toy and the recommendation is to contact Huffy for a repair kit before giving this toy to your child. This toy can tip forward causing children to fall off and get injured.

What about the “older” children in the household? Should we be concerned…yes.

Once again we have a concern with battery packs.  Gyroor C3 E-Bikes have been recalled due to fire and burn hazards.  This recall is repairable. Contact the manufacturer for a replacement battery immediately!

My words of wisdom are these… check for any recalls prior to Santa’s visit, we must be vigilant in keeping our children safe.
