Taylor Swift’s Record Label Is Now Making Vodka
Big Machine Label Group, home to major artists such as Taylor Swift, Florida Georgia Line and Thomas Rhett, isn't just pouring out hits anymore — it's also pouring out vodka.
On Tuesday (May 30), BMLG President and CEO Scott Borchetta announced the launch of the new alcohol, Big Machine Platinum Filtered Premium Vodka, which will be available exclusively in the Middle Tennessee region (at least during its initial launch period).
Fitting, since BMLG is located on Music Row in Nashville, and its vodka is currently being distilled at Lynnville, Tennessee's Tenn South Distillery. The new spirit is crafted with high quality grains and pure Tennessee limestone water, so it's suitable that Tennesseans get the first shot. However, it's a good possibility that Borchetta will eventually want the vodka to be as nationwide — or in Swift's case, worldwide — as his Big Machine superstars.
“Over the past 11 years Big Machine has provided the soundtrack to millions of fans worldwide,” Borchetta says in a statement. “With the launch of Big Machine Premium Vodka, we are now offering a superior product that perfectly complements the music we take such great pride in."
Though no advertising plans have been released or even hinted at, the new vodka has potential to create the perfect entertainment cocktail by connecting its Big Machine stars to the alcohol brand. The vodka's tagline invites consumers to “Pour It On … Turn It Up … Lean In … Or Lean Back … And Indulge." Will the influential music stars at Big Machine do the same?
