Daniel's family all have ties to Bama. Daniel's mama even helped Bear Bryant recruit football players. His grandmother was an Alabama cheerleader. Grandfather Carlson said "the family is about as red & white as you can get".

Gramps refused to watch his grandson play for Auburn but he finally softened & took in a game. Did he want his grandson to play well on Saturday? He says "yes".
