While you were out enjoying brunch on Sunday morning, competitive eater Matt 'Megatoad' Stonie set a world record by eating 182 slices of bacon in five minutes.

With all of the bizarre eating competitions that take place around the country, it's surprising to find out that Major League Eating has never held a bacon-eating contest before now, but that doesn't take anything away from Stonie's accomplishment. He more than tripled the unofficial record held by Mark Lyle aka 'The Human Vacuum.'

The new prince of pork estimates he ate more than six pounds of bacon at the event held ahead of NASCAR's Daytona 500. Smithfield bacon, which sponsored the event, carries about 40 calories per slice. That means Stonie consumed more than 7,000 calories before most of the west coast rolled out of bed.

The California native now holds the world record for birthday cake, Slugburgers, the Kookamonger Burger, Indian tacos, and gyros. Look for 22-year-old to aim for Joey Chestnut's eight-year hot dog eating championship this summer.
