On Wednesday, July 9th, 39 soldiers will attempt to complete a seven-mile foot march under laden pack that starts in Eastaboga and ends at the track’s finish line.

Soldiers attending the Accelerated 57-day Officer Candidate School (OCS) conducted by the Alabama Military Academy/200th Regiment, located at the Ft. McClellan Army National Guard Training Center, are gearing up to once again tackle Talladega Superspeedway. The seven-mile march is a requirement the soldiers must fulfill before graduating from OCS.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:                

Wednesday, July 9

  • 6 PM – March begins in Eastaboga (near Salem Baptist Church)
  • 6:30 PM – Track & Infield open to Media
  • 7 PM – Soldiers will start entering track
  • 8:30 PM – Foot march is complete
