Apple and Mid-Air Flip Technology

Have you ever dropped your smartphone and picked it up with a shattered screen? It is a bad feeling. If Apple has anything to do with it, we will no longer have to worry.

According to a few articles on the web, Apple has patented a technology that will allow iPhones to flip in mid air when dropped to land on a protected surface. Assuming there is enough distance in the fall, this would be pretty awesome.

There would be motors i the phone that would communicate with the processor in the phone and throw a little weight around to cause your falling phone to land like a cat...on its feet.
