Another Successful St. Jude Radiothon Has Been Put On The Books
Thanks to our many Partners In Hope this year, we raised a grand total of $38,023 for the work to continue at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital!
It was an emotionally driven few days as 95.3 The Bear, 92.9 WTUG and 790AM WTSK joined forces with our listeners and through the tears, heartache and moments of joy, we made sure the research and life-saving work will continue!
We sold "giggles", found sponsors for the word HOPE, told our personal accounts of this wonderful hospital and even had a "happy hour" of music. Anything we could to get the phones to ring, and they did!
Also, each year we try and do fundraising prior to the radiothon that helps us get a nice jump start for the 2-day on-air blitz.
Again this year, the Tuscaloosa Chapter of Credit Unions really stepped up to the plate! By selling the St. Jude Halloween pin-ups last October, members and employees of Alabama One Credit Union, City Credit Union and Tuscaloosa Credit Union raised $11,677!!
The staff of Krispy Kreme came to the rescue as well and raise over $800 selling pin-ups during the same month!
And of course, who can forget the patrons of our three area Chick-fil-A locations (Northport, MidTown and Skyland Blvd.) who helped us raise nearly $500 in change over a two day period last November!
Danny Thomas once said, "No child should die in the dawn of life." Together, we're getting closer and closer to making that a reality. Thank you.
