Tuscaloosa Church Hosting Special Musical Evening
A Tuscaloosa church will host a musical event featuring the works of an internationally known musician and composer.

Christ Episcopal Church in Tuscaloosa announced they will present an ALL SAINTS’ DAY EVENSONG, Saturday, November 1, at 6:00 PM via press release on Friday.
The service will feature the music of internationally known teacher, musician, and prolific composer of sacred music, choral music, and hymns, K. Lee Scott (b. 1950). This will be a special offering by the Adult Choir and soloists, Dr. Susan Williams and Dr. Paul Houghtaling, conducted by Music Director Doff Procter, with Dr. Steven Taranto, Organist, plus seven instrumentalists from UA’s School of Music and surrounding areas.
K. Lee Scott’s organ voluntary, “There Is a Happy Land,” will open the service as stated in the press release. It will be played on Christ Church’s beautiful 38-rank Létourneau pipe organ.
K. Lee Scott’s REQUIEM is a non-liturgical, seven-movement work with English language text drawing from the Psalms, the Revelation, 17th century English priest and poet John Donne, and verses from a 20th century hymn.
“EVENSONG is a musical setting of the service of evening prayer from the Book of Common Prayer, sometimes called vespers,” said Music Director Doff Procter, “and is traditionally sung at the setting of the sun.” The service is free and open to the public with childcare available.
The Rector of Christ Episcopal Church is Rev. Paul Pradat, Emily Rowell Brown, Associate Rector.
Christ Episcopal Church, at 605 Lurleen B. Wallace Blvd. N., Tuscaloosa, 35401 is on the corner of Lurleen B. Wallace Boulevard N. and Gary Fitts Street.
