Alert: Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Portions of Alabama

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a “WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY.”

This advisory will take effect at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, and will last until 9 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19.

Residents can expect mixed precipitation, up to half an inch of snow, and ice accumulations around a light glaze.

Those in risk areas should know that the roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions, which could impact the Wednesday morning commute.
