Alert: West Alabama Counties Reaching ‘Feels Like’ Temp Over 100 °F
Insight on the Mid to Late June Heatwave
Much of the United States is experiencing concerning heat index values that persist into late June. We could see record-breaking high temperatures and even warmer-than-average lows.

There is concern about the lack of overnight cooling, which could increase the heat-related dangers.
In The Weather Channel's morning briefing, it explained that “by Sunday, over 200 million people will experience temperatures well into the 90s, with some seeing triple-digit heat indices due to the high humidity.”
West Alabama Weekend Outlook
The National Weather Service in Birmingham said to expect “afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be scattered over the weekend, becoming more isolated next week as the heat dome builds.”
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said that the “chance of any one spot getting wet is in the 20-30 percent range.”
