Alabama’s Winter is NOT Over: Cold Temps & Wind Chills Ahead
I hate to say it, but winter isn’t done with Alabama just yet. We expect dry and cool conditions early in the week as surface high pressure settles over the region following Saturday night’s storm system.

Even though February across the Deep South has been above normal temperatures, that is all about to change.
Looking Ahead
The National Weather Service in Birmingham said there is a “medium to high chance of a hard freeze with low temperatures reaching 15-20 degrees for locations near and north of Interstate 20 Wednesday night. There is also a risk of wind chills as cold as the single digits.”

In addition, “There is a medium to high chance of a hard freeze with low temperatures reaching 15-20 degrees across all of central Alabama Thursday night,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham. “This night may feature a long-duration freeze. There is also a risk for wind chills as cold as the single digits.”
