Alabama’s Nick Saban and Pete Golding to visit Arch Manning on Friday

Arch Manning, Isidore Newman high school quarterback and top pick in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports, has garnered the attention of just about every major college football program in the nation, including Alabama.

Coach Saban and defensive coordinator Pete Golding are reportedly going to visit Manning on Friday. This visit definitely won't be the first time Crimson Tide has seen the five-star QB, as Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien visited him a little over a month ago after the Tide's SEC Championship win over Georgia in December. The QB has also visited the university twice, the latest visit being in October as the team dismantled Ole Miss in Bryant Denny Stadium.

Alabama isn't the only school that has or is going to visit the top rated QB this week though, as Kirby Smart and some other Bulldog coaches, fresh off their national championship win, visited Manning and sat courtside at his basketball game, which he also plays, for Newman on Monday night. Florida and their new head coach, Billy Napier, has visited the QB this week as well. Oklahoma, Texas, LSU, and others are also expected to visit Manning sometime this week.

Arch Manning is the nephew of NFL Hall of Famer Peyton Manning and two-time Super Bowl winner Eli Manning. Additionally, he is the grandson of Archie Manning, who was an NFL QB for 13 seasons and who along with Peyton and Eli are the namesakes of the Manning Award, which is given yearly to the best quarterback in college football.

Earlier this week, Alabama quarterback Bryce Young won the 2021 Manning Award, adding it to his impressive collection of awards from this past season which includes the Heisman Trophy and Maxwell Award, and further cementing Young among the recent batch of great Alabama QBs Saban has coached. These QBs consist of Mac Jones, Tua Tagovailoa, and Jalen Hurts, who are all currently NFL starters. Saban and Alabama hopes to add Arch to this list.

According to 247 Sports, Manning's top schools that he is considering joining are Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss, and Clemson, all of which he has visited twice.
