Alabama Softball to Compete in Easton Bama Bash for Home Debut
Team26 will make their 2022 home debut at Rhoads Stadium this weekend in the Easton Bama Bash.
After going 4-0 in the Candrea Classic this past weekend to open the season, including hitting 10 home runs, pitching 33 strikeouts, and run ruling two opponents, Alabama looks to keep their hot streak going. The No. 2 ranked Crimson Tide will play Evansville, No. 8 Virginia Tech twice, and Middle Tennessee twice for a total of five games this weekend.
Alabama has held the Easton Bama Bash every year but one since 1998, posting a 93-11 record, and haven't lost a game in the Bash since 2018. Evansville will be playing in the tournament for the fourth time, previously appearing in it in 1999, 2002, and 2005, while Virginia Tech will be making their second appearance in the tournament, their first being in 2014. This weekend will be Middle Tennessee's first time in the tournament.
Under head coach Patrick Murphy, Alabama softball is 604-99 at Rhoads Stadium in the 22 years that it has been the Tide's home field. Alabama has also won 25 home games in Rhoads Stadium in 18 of its 22 years there.
Alabama will start their weekend slate off against Evansville on Friday, Feb. 18 at 1:30 p.m. CT. To catch the Crimson Tide in the Easton Bama Bash this weekend, you can either tune into 97.5 FM on the radio, download the Me TV FM 97.5 App or WatchESPN.com or the ESPN app for live video.
