Food Alert for Alabama: Popular Rice Recalled Over Stone Risk
One of America’s favorite side dishes is under recall.
A small number of Ben’s Original varieties, including Ben’s Original Long Grain White, Whole Grain Brown, and Long Grain & Wild Ready Rice products, are being recalled.
This voluntary recall is due to “the possible presence of small, naturally occurring stones originating from the rice farm,” said the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). “These small stones pose a possible risk of oral or digestive tract injury if consumed.”
So far, no injuries or illnesses have been linked to the recalled products. If you think you may have purchased one of these products, do not eat it.
