The Alabama coaching staff recognized the complete offensive and defensive travel squads, along with three players on special teams on Monday following the Crimson Tide’s 59-0 shutout victory in Nashville over Vanderbilt Saturday. Senior Hootie Jones and a pair of freshmen in Dylan Moses and Daniel Wright were selected on special teams to go with the offensive and defensive units.

Alabama’s offense finished with 677 yards of total offense, the most ever recorded by UA against an SEC opponent and the sixth-most in a single game in Crimson Tide history. The total offense differential with the Commodores (677-78) is the largest in a single game for Alabama, highlighted by a rushing attack that produced a Saban Era-high 496 yards on the ground, which is also the sixth-most in school history and fourth-best total against an SEC opponent.

The rushing attack was led by junior tailback Damien Harris, who recorded career highs in rushing yards (151), rushing touchdowns (3) and long touchdown run (61 yards). Also contributing big numbers on the ground was fellow junior Bo Scarbrough, who recorded 11 carries for 79 yards with a pair of scores. The freshmen tandem of Najee Harris and Brian Robinson Jr. combined for 121 yards on 15 carries (8.1 yards per carry) with one touchdown.

The Alabama defense turned in one of the most dominant performances in school history, limiting the Commodores to just 78 yards on 38 plays. The Crimson Tide defensive unit allowed only three first downs, which is the fourth-fewest surrendered by an Alabama defense and the fewest by an SEC team in the last 20 years.

Senior Shaun Dion Hamilton led the way with five tackles and a pass breakup, while Anthony Averett, also in his final season, helped shut down the Commodores’ passing attack and finished with three tackles. Sophomore Anfernee Jennings (two tackles, forced fumble) and junior Ronnie Harrison (two tackles, interception) both were in on the Tide’s two forced turnovers, helping hold Vandy scoreless for the entire afternoon.

Jones, Moses and Wright all saw time on kickoff coverage, making key tackles to limit the VU return game. Jones and Wright continued their standout play on special teams, each finishing with two tackles apiece on return coverage, while Moses recorded one tackle as part of the kickoff unit for his lone stop of the contest.
