Alabama Falls Near the Bottom in ‘Best States’ Ranking

You may hear about Alabama being a religious state rooted in tradition and sports, particularly football. Fortunately, we don't have to depend on opinions. There are professional studies that show how Alabama ranks against other states in the nation.

There was a recent study conducted by Wallet Hub that determined the best states to live in within the United States. Can you guess where the state of Alabama ranked?

Alabama has to compete with places like the luxurious state of California, the mountainous terrain of Montana and the well-desired state of Florida for residents.

To find out the best states to live in, Wallet Hub used factors like the cost of housing, income growth, hospital quality, education rate, and more.

If you expected Alabama to be ranked in the top 5 states, you're going to be disappointed. Unfortunately, the Yellow Hammer state didn't rank within the top 5. The best 5 states to live in, according to Wallet Hub are New Jersey, Idaho, Wisconsin,  Massachusetts, and Minnesota.

Alabama ended up being the most affordable state to live in, but as far as overall ranking, it doesn't look too good.

The state of Alabama is one of the 10 worst states to live in, according to Wallet Hub's study. It's actually the 10th-worst state ranking, just above West Virginia, Oklahoma, and South Carolina.
