The Alabama baseball program is one of eight SEC teams ranked in D1Baseball's 2015 preseason poll.

The Crimson Tide, which finished 37-24 a year ago, is ranked No. 20 by the online publication. Defending champion Vanderbilt tops the poll, followed by division foe Florida at No. 2. The SEC East claims three of the top five teams (South Carolina at No. 3).

Alabama rose as high as the top 10 in 2014 before falling just short of a Super Regional appearance. Following an opening game loss in the Tallahassee regional, the Crimson Tide won three straight to force a winner-takes-all game against Kennesaw State. With two men on and down two runs, Kyle Overstreet struck out looking on a controversial call to end the season.

Collegiate Baseball also released a preseason poll last month but Alabama was not among its top 40 teams. The season begins on February 13 in Hoover against Maryland Eastern Shore.
