Is Your Name on the 2024 Hurricane List?

Since the days when I could mark a storm's latitude and longitude on a paper map, I’ve played a little game whenever the hurricane naming list is released. My goal is to check if any names of family or friends appear on the list, and then I share the news with them.

In 2023, my father’s name, a few family members, and five friends were on the list. In 2024, the list included two family members, two friends, and an ex-boyfriend. This year, eight friends made the list.
