2022 Louisiana DL Commits to the Crimson Tide
The second commitment of Alabama football’s 2022 class is on board.
2022 defensive end Walter Bob out of Acadiana High School in Lafayette, LA committed to the Crimson Tide earlier this Monday. The 6-foot-4, 230 pound prospect chose Alabama over schools like Louisiana-Lafayette and Tulane. Bob currently doesn’t have a star ranking for the 2022 class according to 247Sports.
“First off, I would like to thank my coaching staff at AHS, my family, my friends and anyone who supported me,” Bob said in a statement released via twitter. “My hard work and dedication got me to this point, and I’m proud to say I will be committing to the University of Alabama! Roll Tide!”
Bob joins Robert Woodyard as the second commit for Alabama’s 2022 class. His main recruiters are defensive coordinator Pete Golding and defensive line coach Freddie Roach. In only his junior season at Acadiana, Bob amassed 31 tackles and nine sacks.
Bob is the most recent commitment from the state of Louisiana, a state Alabama prides itself on its ability to recruit from. Most recently, Four-star Safety Kaine Williams represented the state for the 2021 class and three-star running back Kyle Edwards in 2020.
Alabama wraps up its 2021 recruiting cycle on Wednesday with national signing day. The Crimson Tide have the top ranked class ever, and have a chance to finish even better with Alabama targets like J.T. Tuimolaou and Terrion Arnold waiting to commit.
Commitments for the 2022 class may become more frequent as the Crimson Tide finalize their coaching staff and begin focusing on the new recruiting cycle.
