This Wednesday, the monthly ‘Tips for Tuscaloosa’ songwriter’s concert is back at Billy’s Sports Grill in Northport and will benefit Ainsley’s Angels.

If you’ve never stopped by before, the night will feature local and Nashville based singer/songwriters in what is known as a “round”. Singing their songs, telling stories and musically accompanying each other.

As for the "secret guest," all we can say is that this person has written songs for Hank Williams, Jr., Little Texas and Tim McGraw. You'll have to come out to the show and see for yourself who this person is.

New to the lineup this month is Texas native Macy Martin who got her musical start at 6-years-old, entertaining for the Miss America Organization’s Miss Texas Organization pageant system during their preliminary intermissions. Influenced by such country heavyweights as Alison Krauss, Carrie Underwood and Martina McBride, this young singer is ready to show off her raw talent in the round at Billy’s!

All tips this month will go to Ainsley’s Angels, whose goal is to build awareness about America’s special needs community through inclusion in all aspects of life and an organization that I have been involved with since the 2015 Tuscaloosa Half Marathon.

If you’re a songwriter interested in playing, there will be an open mic portion, so you’ll need to arrive by 5:30pm to sign up.

  • Show starts at 6pm at Billy’s Sports Grill in downtown Northport
  • There is a suggested $20 cover at the door, but that is not required by any means
