Our friend and Tips for Tuscaloosa founder Hope Cassity is out to prove that music heals with her latest release, a song for her late father.

'Sting' is the latest release from Cassity and fitting that she chose Father's Day to release the song since it more or less became a healing tribute to her father. She wrote the song with hit-making friends Jerry Salley and Jim McBride. She says she knew it was special when they wrote it but never expected it to become her reality years later. Her Dad (Diddy) fell in love with the song the first time he heard Rebecca Lynn Howard sing the demo.

Cassity lost her father Joe Daniels on December 16, 2015. Joe never saw the final version of the video as he passed a few hours before it was completed though the song was quietly played in the background at his funeral in a small chapel in Monroeville, AL.

The video for 'Sting' gives a look into Cassity and her band mates recording process but also share a special moment at the end between father and daughter.
