Late University of Alabama alum, Daniel Nielsen will be honored with a Habitat for Humanity fundraiser. The event will take place on Sunday, April 24th from Noon until 4 p.m. at the Heat Pizza Bar at Government Plaza in Downtown Tuscaloosa. The fundraiser boasts to include "live music, silent auction items, food trucks, adoptable pets from Metro Animal Shelter, face painting, and more.”

In a press release sent to Townsquare Media, it said that “Daniel Nielsen was not only an outstanding student and two-time graduate of The University but dedicated his time in Tuscaloosa to serve the community. In his five years here, he helped build 17 Habitat for Humanity homes and raise $200,000. Daniel tragically passed away in the fall of 2021 at age 24.”

The mission of the memorial fundraiser is to raise funds to assist in “building an entire Habitat for Humanity home in his name in the Tuscaloosa community.”
