Thursday Has The Potential For Severe Weather

I wanted to give you an update on the severe weather potential for our listening areas for Thursday, April 23, 2020.  The National Weather Service has portions in an Enhanced Risk, Slight Risk, or Marginal Risk.  The Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa radio station coverage areas are mostly in the “slight risk” category.  At the time of this blog post, The National Weather Service noted on their Facebook page, explaining the risk zones are as a “Marginal Risk as having a very low chance of damaging winds and quarter-sized hail.  Slight Risk has the potential for damaging winds up to 60 mph, ping pong ball size hail, and perhaps a tornado.  The Enhanced Risk could mean Tornadoes, damaging winds up to 70 mph, and golf ball size hail."

Please be mindful that these storms enter our area in the overnight hours around 3 am until 2 pm.  However, some areas father away from us could last until 7 pm.  Also, there will be around in the morning and later in the day with an expected 2 to 3 inches of rain in Central Alabama.  Be sure to be weather aware, especially in the overnight hours. - @MaryKRadio
