Alabama Softball has been named the 2022 SEC preseason favorite for the third consecutive season following the release of the SEC coaches poll on Monday.
The Board of Directors of the State of Alabama Sports Hall of Fame announced on Thursday morning that Alabama softball head coach Patrick Murphy and former Bama basketball forward Keith Askins will be inducted into the hall in May 2022.
Alabama softball's Team 25 captured the hearts of Crimson Tide fans by winning the SEC Tournament and making a deep run in the WCWS. The team lost many key players from its 2021 roster but is still expected to be a national contender in 2022. Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy announced on Twitter when and where Team 26 will start its new campaign.
The Alabama Crimson Tide softball team just completed a special season that saw the Tide finish as SEC Tournament champions and No. 3 in the nation in the final rankings. Alabama is losing several key members from Team 25 but Patrick Murphy's Alabama squad picked up senior infielder Ashley Prange by way of the transfer portal from Ohio State.
Alabama Softball ended its 2021 season ranked No. 3 in the national polls. This is the team's second top-five finish in the last three years and its 22nd top-25 finish in a row.
