On April 27th, 2011 over 1,200 citizens were injured and treated at DCH Regional Medical Center.

The morning after the destructive F4 tornado leveled Tuscaloosa, the community crawled out of the rubble and went to work rebuilding.

Five years have passed since April 27, 2011. Alabama was devastated by a generational tornado outbreak that day; 62 tornadoes caused massive destruction as they carved their way across the state.

Wednesday marks five years since an EF-4 tornado devastated Tuscaloosa on April 27, 2011. The University of Alabama shared a special message and video on social media this morning ahead of the anniversary.
