We are monitoring a system that will enter our coverage areas on Sunday, January 9, 2022. This system will bring the possibility of showers and thunderstorms ahead and along the cold front. Some of the storms could become severe in the afternoon and evening hours.

James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist mentioned that “strong thunderstorms are possible over the southern 2/3 of Alabama tomorrow. The main concern is from strong gusty winds. A brief, isolated tornado is possible, but not likely.”
