The COVID-19 pandemic has caused marching band season for some to be non-existent or have a hybrid version of the season. I couldn’t imagine not marching or participating in marching band competitions. I’m sure it’s been hard to navigate those feelings.

Just a reminder that FOOTBALL SEASON IS ALSO MARCHING BAND SEASON. I mean, we all know the REAL reason people go to football games. It’s the half time show.

Gordo lead the way with 41.7% of the votes! Followed by Brookwood with 38.27%.

Let’s also salute the high schools that got to the Alabama High School Football Championship games.

They took place last week at Bryant Denny Stadium. In 18 seconds, the Thompson Warriors scored 10 points to salvage a perfect season and win the Class 7A State Championship over the Auburn Tigers!

Pinson Valley defeated Spanish Fort to win Class 6A. The St. Paul Saints defeated the Pleasant Grove Spartans in Class 5A!

The Handley Tigers defeated the Gordo Greenwave in Class 4A. Fyffe High School Red Devils defeated the Montgomery Catholic Knights in Class 3A.

In Class 2A, Mars Hill defeated Abbeyville. And the Linden Patriots defeated the Pickens County Tornadoes in the Class 1A!

Congratulations to all involved with high school music programs and sports and during this season and throughout the pandemic.
