RaeLynn and Bo Hicks Have Accepted and Completed My ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’
When I did the 'Ice Bucket Challenge' two week ago I called out Mayor Walt Maddox, RaeLynn, Big Smo, Joanna Smith, and Druid City Brewing Company's Bo Hicks.
To date, Mayor Maddox, Joanna Smith and Big Smo have yet to accept my challenge. (Unless I've just not seen their videos yet.)
Raelynn was the first to go under the ice water for ALS...
Next up was my friend and the man voted second most popular dude in Tuscaloosa, Bo Hicks. Although, at my birthday party I swore I heard him say, "If it was anyone other than you Monk, I'd say get bent!" But I can't be 100% positive since his beer is so good.
Bo and Elliott did help me out and doubled down by calling on Mayor Maddox again! Hopefully Big Smo and the newly married Joanna Smith have made their donation as rules of the challenge imply!
For those who may not know, #IceBucketChallenge benefits the ALS Association, who raise money for research and patient services, promote awareness about and advocates on issues related to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
According to the ALS Association website,
Between July 29 and August 12, The ALS Association and its 38 chapters have received an astonishing $4 million in donations compared to $1.12 million during the same time period last year. The ALS Association is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from those people who have been doused, made a donation, or both. Contributions further The Association’s mission to find a cure for ALS while funding the highest quality of care for people living with the disease.
