Fatal Plane Crash in Georgia Held Passengers Headed to Tuscaloosa

ABC 33/40 reports multiple people are dead following a plane crash in Oconee Couty, just east outside of Atlanta.

The Piper PA-46 Aircraft crashed in the area of Maxey and Elder Roads around 3:45 p.m. The plane as traveling from Columbian Metropolitan Airport to the Tuscaloosa National Airport when it went down approximately 10 mile southwest of Athens.

Early reports indicate three people were killed when the single-engine airplane went down. Stay tuned to this site and station for more updates as they become available.
