There are 10 days left until Alabama travels up to Columbia Missiouri to take on the Tigers in the 2020 season opener. At this point on the calendar if a player tests positive or comes into contact with someone who has coronavirus they will miss the season opener.

First-year head coach Eli Drinkwitz revealed to the media that the Tigers will be short by 12 players due to COVID-19 protocols and procedures.

Not all 12 players have tested positive for COVID-19 but all 12 were at minimum exposed to the virus. It is unknown if these players are starters or key contributors for the Tigers but Drinkwitz elaborated that he is not concerned about Missouri not having enough players to compete in the game.

This comes on the heels of Tennessee cancelling a recent scrimmage due to 44 players being ruled out to COVID-19 procedures and other injuries. Auburn is missing five starters at the moment due to positive tests, though Malzahn expects all five will be available to play against Kentucky.

Missouri tested its players again today, therefore they could be without even more players for its matchup with the Crimson Tide. According to oddshark Alabama is currently a 24.5 point favorite, though that line could see an increase due to this development.
