The authorities were sent to a house fire call May 22 on Old Lewisburg Road. When firefighters arrived at the location, the house was in full blaze.

Once the fire was put out, a body was discovered in the remains of the home. After an autopsy, it was determined that the victim had been shot. Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates confirmed to AL.com that Walker had been shot before the blaze started.

As of the time of this article's publishing, no arrests have been made in connection with Walker’s death.
