Jalen Hurts, The First Bama QB To Start In The SB Since When?!

It's official: Alabama will again have multiple former football players in the Super Bowl this year.

The big game is set for Sunday, February 12th, 2023 between the Philidelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. Once again, the Crimson Tide will have multiple former players playing in the Superbowl.

According to 24/7 Sports, four former Crimson Tide players will suit up for Superbowl.

Offensive lineman Landon Dickerson, quarterback Jalen Hurts, cornerback Josh Jobe and receiver DeVonta Smith all for the Philadelphia Eagles.

It's safe to say that being a member of the Crimson Tide football team has its perks. Specifically when it comes to that champion mindset.

After winning the NFC championship game against the San Francisco 49ers, DeVonta Smith said during a post-game interview,

"Ultimately, job's not done."

Referring to the goal being to win a Super Bowl championship ring.

The interviewer pointed out that every time he speaks with Jalen Hurts or DeVonta Smith after a huge win their "Job is not done" mentality is the same.

When asked where that come from, Smith's response was golden.

Even more golden is the fact that Jalen Hurts will be the first Crimson Tide quarterback to start in the Super Bowl since Ken Stabler.

Stabler played for Alabama at the QB position and helped Alabama win the National Championship Title in 1965 and was also an All-American.

Ken Stabler, also known as The Snake, was the last Crimson Tide player to start in the Super Bowl back in 1977 when the Oakland Raiders took on the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl 11.

Jalen Hurts' pregame speech before the NCF Championship has me ready to believe he'll have the same result as Stabler in the Super Bowl.
