Hillcrest Knocks Off Central; Banks 3 TD Night
The Hillcrest Patriots (7-0) defeated the Central High Falcons (4-3) 49-14. The Patriots were led by Travaris Banks who finished with three total touchdowns, Jayshon Hand, Bryson Kimbrough, and Santonious Brown. The Falcons were led by quarterback David McNeil who finished with more than 100 yards passing and two touchdowns, running back Marquis Thomas, and wide receiver Travon Hall.
First half was a low scoring affair. Hillcrest had a lot of success running the ball early not so much throwing. Central on the other hand had success with the short passing game, McNeil scrambling, and Thomas finding room to run. The Patriots scored first as wide receiver Kahden Smith lined up in the wildcat formation and ran for a 50-yard touchdown.
The Falcons were able to move the ball pretty well with their possessions, however they could not seem to find the endzone early in the game.
