Morgan Wallen Returns to Stage First Time Post Arrest (Setlist + Video)

Morgan Wallen has returned to the stage for the first time since his recent arrest.

Despite rain earlier in the night, Wallen performed a total of 25 songs during his nearly two-hour set and even alluded to the recent incident during the concert at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss.

Wallen was in between dates on his One Night at a Time Tour when the incident occurred at Eric Church’s newly opened bar and honky-tonk, Chief's. The "Last Night" hitmaker was accused of throwing a chair from the sixth floor rooftop of Chief's. He was arrested on three felony charges.

Wallen made a statement on the incident Friday (April 19) just ahead of the scheduled concert, apologizing for his behavior and assuring fans there would be no changes to his tour. He also alluded to the incident during the concert Saturday (April 20).

"I got this set up here behind me, these flags are from my high school. And it represents something. I had a coach, I played baseball, his name was Coach Davidson," the star could be heard saying in a video on Fox News, which you can see below. "When I was a junior in high school, I almost got kicked off the team. I was a li'l rowdy back then. I guess I'm still a little rowdy now."

Coincidentally, the concert took place at the site of Wallen's last big public controversy, Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss. He was scheduled to play the venue last April, but canceled the show last minute, when fans were already inside the venue waiting for the show to start. Many were upset at the timing.

Wallen and his team were quick to add humor to the screens ahead of his walk out to the stage. The messaging on the screens was a play on the wording that concertgoers saw last year when they were being told that show would be canceled.

"Ladies and gentlemen, fortunately Morgan has full voice and is very able to perform tonight," the screen reads. "No reason to make your way to the exits for the next two hours because Morgan and the boys are about to rock Oxford's face off!!"

Thankfully, his Oxford fans were still loyal following last year's abrupt cancelation. Fans packed in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium despite rain pouring during opening acts Nate Smith and Bailey Zimmerman's sets. When Wallen took the stage, the rain stopped but the singer could be seen slipping on the wet stage.

According to Setlist.fm, Wallen opened with "Ain't That Some," his hit song from his third studio album One Thing At A Time. 

Including the gratuitous three encore songs, Wallen treated fans to a total of 25 songs during his nearly two-hour performance. Jason Isbell's "Cover Me Up" was the only cover song the singer performed during the show.

Opener Bailey Zimmerman came out during Wallen's set to join him on "Cowgirls."

Wallen is due in court on May 3, 2024 to face the three felony counts of reckless endangerment from his recent arrest.
