Morgan Wallen acknowledged the hullaballoo surrounding his piano-flipping incident on social media on Monday night (June 1), but it's a little hard to tell if he was joking, trolling the controversy or simply just plain mad.

On TikTok, Wallen shared a short video of himself in what looks like it might be a backstage area, wearing headphones and standing in front of a red piano.

Based on his outfit, it looks like the video was filmed before his second night in Denver on Saturday (May 30) — the day after the controversial piano flip.

"Hey, I just want you guys to know that right now, this piano is working," he says, tapping the instrument. "That's what they told me last night."

"Can't you tell I'm so distraught over my piano," he added in the caption.

It's not totally clear whether Wallen meant to call out the crew whose job it was to keep the piano in working order, or whether he was simply cracking a joke about all the publicity the moment received.

The piano-flipping incident on Friday (May 29) drew mixed responses from fans.

Some felt he was justified in his frustration about the technical difficulties; others thought his behavior was childish. And a few pointed out that it's pretty common for rock acts to smash their instruments onstage for entertainment value.

Why Did Morgan Wallen Push Over a Piano Onstage During His Denver Still the Problem Tour Stop?

Wallen experienced technical issues during the first of two nights in Denver, Colo., on Friday, while sitting at the piano to perform his ballad "Sand in My Boots."

He appeared to become visibly frustrated as the song went on, and ultimately, he just stood up and sang it a cappella.

Then, he returned to the instrument and shoved it over onstage. In video of the moment, you can see a couple panels breaking off of the piano as it hits the floor.

When he returned for Night Two in Denver on Saturday, Wallen once again sat at his piano for "Sand in My Boots," saying, "Let's see if this piano works tonight." It did, and the performance went smoothly.

More notable than the content of Wallen's video about his piano troubles is the simple fact that he acknowledged them at all.

As he's ascended into superstardom — and become an increasingly popular target for tabloid fodder — the singer has pulled back on posting behind-the-scenes or spontaneous content.
