When singing cover songs, whether it’s in your own band or giving it your best at the bar on karaoke night, few people truly recreate the original with 100% accuracy.

My friend, singer-songwriter and Tuscaloosa native Glen Templeton, takes care of a Conway Twitty song like no one else, EVER! Glen sat in my studio one afternoon and performed ‘Goodbye Time’ and literally gave me chill bumps!

He spent two years honing his skills while traveling the country in the musical “Only Make Believe” playing, you guessed it, Conway!

Last year for Father’s Day his record label Black River Entertainment released a studio version of ‘That’s My Job’ but this time Glen performed the song in his own style and not Conway’s style.

Please don’t go away from this article labeling Glen as a ‘cover artist’ because he’s far from it and has the original music to prove it. He released a full length in 2011 and got radio airplay across the country with the song ‘I Could Be the One’ and recently hit airwaves with ‘Sing That Song Again’!

Glen is a real artist with a pure talent and is representing T-Town well in Music City. He has the power of a great promotions team behind him now and sees big things for his future in country music.

He can be found every few months rocking out Temerson Square at Rhythm & Brews and occasionally at Jackie's Lounge on Bryant Drive. My advice is to check out his music, love it, and see him live when you get the chance.
