Florida’s iconic “Red Bar” burns to the ground Wednesday morning
The Red Bar, a popular watering hole in Walton County, Florida, was completely destroyed in a fire Wednesday morning.
The bar opened on Holtz Avenue in Grayton Beach in 1995 and was frequented by locals and tourists of the scenic State Road 30-A alike.
There is no official word yet on what caused the fire, but witnesses reported hearing a series of explosions early Wednesday morning.
The South Walton Fire District said on social media that they were able to contain the fire and prevent catastrophic damage to surrounding structures, but reported that the Red Bar was a total loss.
