In the least surprising news of the day, ESPN's College Gameday announced its plan to broadcast live from the Alabama-Florida State game on the first weekend of the season.

The traveling college football pregame show visits locations all around the country to spotlight the week's biggest or most important game (usually), and the opener between the Crimson Tide and Seminoles is an obvious pick for September 2. Not only will it be the most impactful game of week one, but it could end up being the highest profile opener of the AP poll era.

The preseason polls won't be released for a couple more weeks, but most expect Alabama and Florida State to occupy the top five with the potential for this game to pit No. 1 versus No. 2. Using Vegas as an early indication, Alabama (+275) is the favorite to win the 2017 national championship and Florida State (+700) is the third favorite with USC.

We're still one month away from the game and practice is just beginning, but the Crimson Tide is currently a 7-point favorite in the game.
